Would You?

Post placeholder image

After seeing a picture of Choo-Choo on my desk, one of my coworkers started talking about the fact that he is allergic to cats and almost broke up with his then girlfriend (now finance), because being in her apartment for any extended period of time, was just too much. He tried various allergy remedies and nothing worked. In the end, the cat went to live at her parent’s house. I then stated that it would be really really hard for me to give up Choo-Choo (even with all his faults), and almost everyone looked at me like I was mad. One said: but it’s just an animal.” I responded: “yes but he’s like my child.” So wondering, would anyone out there give up their pet for romance? I’d like to think I wouldn’t but one never really knows until faced with said situation.

No woman in the world is going to come between me and kittens. Wait, maybe that Brazilian Victoria’s Secret model. Or maybe Emmanuelle Beart, if she’d have me. Or perhaps that girl I see on my way to work. But that’s it.

Never! Not Spot or Lucky or Sissy or Felix or Henry or… Uh oh, I’m starting to sound like the crazy cat lady again.
I did actually have an ex that wanted to keep my dog (my baby of fourteen years) when we broke up. Unfortunately I had to twist the knife that much more when I informed him that I never really did love him as much as I loved my dog.

Depends. If I really loved the person and found something like allergies to be the crux, then I might think about it. (This might be easy for me to say though: I like dogs, I grew up in the country, our dogs were always outside, my mom – who has allergies – was fine with that arrangement. So, to appease the one I love, I would probably send the dog outside. Cats are probably another story…) Now my wife – she may never had married me if I couldn’t handle inside animals đŸ˜‰

No. Neither one of mine would be swapped out for a man. Odds are the pet’s going to be around longer…
