Working From Home

Post placeholder image

I’m feeling better about things today. My younger sister has a new set of drama that I’d rather not talk about but things at work at looking up. I moved out of my current cube to another that provides a view of the Chicago River. More importantly, I got my new company issued laptop today. As such, effective next week, I’ll be working from home about 4 days a week. This is the second time in my work career that I’ve been able to do this. So quite prepared for all the highs and lows. I know I’ll feel isolated at times, but in that much of what I do requires me to be on the phone constantly, I really won’t be lonely. In addition, on days like today when it’s wicked cold outside, I’m really going to love the less than a minute commute from my bedroom to my home office. Speaking of home office, I’ve been working frantically to get it set up. Over the last couple months, my office had become my junk room. Now trying to sort through things as I also need to make space for the dining set I purchased via Ebay. I know it’s sort of crazy to buy furniture sight unseen, but I got a really good deal. So can’t wait for it to arrive in a few weeks. I’m already thinking about my first dinner party. Ok, trying not to get ahead of myself; back to organizing I go.

that’s awesome! i actually just got a laptop at work a couple months ago. while i still work at the office during normal hours, at least now when we have major jobs which require longer nights & weekend work i can elect to head home….
still debating what to do tomorrow. maybe i’ll come in for a little while & then bring stuff back with me.

Oh how I envy you. You can work in your pajamas all day long…what a dream!
Also, you will save money because you will buy your lunch from the grocery store and not a restaurant or wherever…unless you order in everyday…
And you can get up just 10 minutes before you have to be at work…just long enough to brush the teeth and feed the cat…and when you are done, you’re already home…
I think you’ll find you have MORE energy to socialize when you are done for the day…
Fantastic! I hope you enjoy it! If I could work from home like that…even 4 days out of the week…I’d never quit that job.
