Web Hosting Options

Post placeholder image

In less than a year of blogging, I’ve run out of space with my current web hosting plan. I could upgrade with my current host, but I’m not sure that there current plans would be economical for me in the long run. So thinking I need to find a new home that’s more blogger friendly. Since there are a zillion options out there, I’m looking for a few recommendations. Any suggestions?

    I strongly recommend http://www.adthosting.com
Been with them for 3 weeks, everything is great so far.

Ursula: I don’t know what kind of files you keep on your site (there might be a lot of stuff, for all I know), but judging from the amount of archives I see here, you shouldn’t be up to 65MB. You might be storing huge amounts of bounced spam at your catch-all e-mail address. This happened to my husband — he had over 800 mails!
    Just a possibility.

A lot of folks dig Pair Networks. Me? I respect their rep, but have been happy with Dreamhost.

It occured to me that you’re probably wondering where the hell did he come from. I was using BlogChatter Side from BlogChatter – Realtime Weblog Aggregation.
“BlogChatter is a window into weblog activity right now, at this moment. It is a real-time event stream of weblog updates, similar to the data provided by weblogs.com, without polling or a static data format. Pings to BlogChatter are displayed instantly the moment they are received, and only persisted in memory for no longer than 30 seconds.”
I use it to go to sites I would never know about just to see what people are doing.
    Bye!

Hosting Matters is really good! You get an allottment each month instead of year. You can go as little as $5/month up to $35/month, depending on your needs.

Wow…how did you go through 65 MB? That makes me more hesitant to switch to MT. My blogger archives for a year were less than 5MB.
FWIW, I use your-site.com, but I think I have even less space than you do.

I used http://www.duramedia.net since I started Noded.com. No downtime, MT friendly, and the owners are bloggers. The server is located in Texas not that it matters. It’s been so stable that I’ve switched my business site there as well.
