The Early Eighties

I’m in the middle of doing chores, but can’t stop watching the John Hughes’ movie marathon on TNT. I’ve seen these movies (The Breakfast Club, Some Kind of Wonderful, Sixteen Candles) at least 30 times, yet I watch them every time I flip through the channels and see them on. As to be expected, these movies remind me of my years in high school during the early 80s. Not sure why I get nostalgic as they weren’t the best of years, but I wonder about what’s become of the people I hung around with. It’s sort of sad really, but I haven’t kept in touch with any friends from high school.

Me, neither! I figure most of my ex-classmates turned out to be bag ladies (the women and even a few of the guys) or lower-echelon Republicans. None of them could have turned out to be as good looking and happy as I did. No way!
