Oscar 2014 Highlights

I didn’t actually watch all of the Academy Awards as it started at 1:30am London time and well after about an hour, I was bored and really tired of all the commercials. 12 Years A Slave

12 Years a Slave won three Oscars last night including Best Picture and for this I’m really pleased for producer/director Steve McQueen, Lupita Nyong’o (winner Best Supporting Actress), Chiwetel Ejiofor (nominee Best Actor) and everyone else involved in the production. It’s quite a visual film and have to say that when I saw it early January, I was so enraged by the brutally and inhumane treatement of black people, that for the first time ever I felt deep hatred in my heart for anyone involved or who has directly benefited from slavery. Is Any Work Getting Done?

I hope big brother isn’t watching (they probably are), but I haven’t really done much for the past two days. Yesterday a colleague went to the movies to see: Catch Me if You Can. I would have gone with her except I had that darn doctor’s appointment. Hardly anyone is here. So I’ve been crusing the Internet. Talk about undiscovered country. There is a lot out there I haven’t seen!!
