Summer Festivals

Without a doubt, one of the best things about summers in Chicago is the long list of outdoor concerts and neighborhood festivals. Last night I went to Ravina with friends for The BoDeans concert. I wasn’t really familiar with their music, but concert provided a great opportunity to hang out with friends, talk and drink lots of wine and eat some good food. Thankfully the weather cooperated. Today, my friend and I spent about two hours at The Printers Row Book Fair before rain forced most of the vendors to shut things down. I got some good deals on quite a few books so I’m glad the rain didn’t keep me away completely. But I really hope the weather catches up with summer here in Chicago. So far, I don’t think we’ve had two consecutive days over 80 degrees. What is up with that? This dreary rain is starting to get depressing.

I agree about the weather! I’m a teacher and I really count on the sunny, hot summers to help refresh me for a new school year. I’m still hoping the rest of August will finally feel like summer!!!
