Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee

It’s great to see the Union Jack, the flag of the United Kingdom out everywhere in celebration of Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee. This is not normally the case. Unlike the United States where flags are flown on government buildings, schools, homes, etc. all the time — over here it’s like they only bring out the Union Jack on special occasions. That shouldn’t be as there is much that the British have to be proud of. Thus, here’s hoping the flag waving continues. It’s quite lovely to see and think it goes a long way towards making more people feel patriotic.
By the way, the above picture was taken in London near Oxford Circus Tube Station.
