Olympic Ceremonies Rehearsals

Post placeholder image

Exactly one week from today, I’ll have my second rehearsal for London 2012 Olympics Opening and Closing ceremonies. We were sworn to secrecy so can’t give ANY details on what I’ll be doing. Thus, was really surprised when a few days before our first rehearsal via BBC and in newspapers across the land, saw images and details about the Opening ceremony as revealed by director Danny Boyle.

Specifically, that the Opening Ceremony “will start with an anarchic pastoral vision of Britain’s green and pleasant land, featuring real animals, fake rain, a mosh-pit in tribute to the Glastonbury Festival and a ‘posh-pit’ summoning the spirit of the Last Night of the Proms.” All total about 120 animals.

So of course, that lead to numerous calls and jokes from friends, asking if I was to be a caretaker for the animals during the show. I just laughed but gave nothing away. This is an amazing opportunity and so not taking any chances; not even with close family members. Particularly as I now have the opportunity to not just partake in the Olympics but also the Paralympics ceremonies. That’s right, all four ceremonies for London 2012 and so I’m out of this world. I mean, so few people have been given this opportunity and so despite current challenges, I feel eternally grateful and blessed.
