Genetic Manipulation

With news below, lesbians I’m sure will want to start dancing in the street. It’s a bit premature since the technique can not yet be used on humans, but perhaps towards the end of my lifetime (hopefully some 50 years from now), two women will be able to have a baby together without using sperm from a male donor.

Japanese Scientists Say They’ve Created Mice With 2 Genetic Moms and No Dad, a First for Mammals
The Associated Press
April 21 — Just ahead of Mother’s Day, scientists have found a way to cut dads out of the picture, at least among rodents: They have produced mice with two genetic moms and no father. It is the first time the feat has been accomplished in mammals.

I dont think that genetic manipulation is the right way to go but it seems like we are heading that direction in the future

i’ll refrain from my real comments. i’d be on my soapbox and giving hidden history lessons and explaining women in ancient sects already knew how to do this and start talking about women and the feminie from ‘isis’ to ‘athena’ to ‘mary’. it’s called parthenogenesis and it doesn’t just apply to plants. notice the word partheno (as in parathenon). and they act like they don’t know what that temple was used for. *rolleyes* oops! i stepped up there for a sec but i’m off now.

not this lesbian.. i mean, it’s unfortunate that lesbian couples can’t both be biological mothers and i certainly wish women didn’t need men to procreate, but not if it involves altering my genetic structure, as the article says:
“one of the mouse mothers was a mutant newborn, whose DNA had been altered to make it act like a male’s contribution to an embryo”.
uh-uh. no thank you.
i think some things are just not meant to be fucked with.. like cloning.. besides, there are millions of kids out there already that are up for adoption..

Ummmm wow! That’s some straight up interesting stuff. With the complexities that exist in the human genetic system, I wonder if that could actually be possible in females. It’s amazing what the human mind is capable of thinking up….
