Eva Cassidy

I was introduced to Eva Cassidy via a Nightline episode several years ago. That episode was repeated this past new year’s eve. This is turn prompted me to finally order one of her cds: Songbird. Such a shame that it was in death that she became a star. She has such a strong powerful voice; simply breathtaking. In addition, she has great range — singing not just blues but also gospel, country, etc. Her rendition of all the songs on the Songbird album is great, but I particularly like Over the Rainbow. The first time I heard it, it brought tears to my eyes.
