Did Anyone Else Think The Half Time Show Was Lame?

I channel hopped for most of Super Bowl XXXIX. However, I watch the half time show and let me say that I was not impressed. Paul McCartney gave a decent performance, but the show overall was pretty lame….heck, I almost fell asleep. Thus, shame on the NFL for reaching back and choosing such a safe performer from almost another lifetime. When you have a billion+ people watching your show, thinking they could have easily booked a more hip entertaining performer that wouldn’t repeat last years wardrobe malfunction.

Perhaps over the years, I’ve just come to expect the SuperBowl half-time performance to be a hip show with lots of big name acts. More importantly, I’ve grown to expect that these acts would be a bit more current with the times. So while Paul McCartney is a big name, he’s somewhat dated to me at least. Heck, the songs he played were over 30 years old.

Paul McCartney is classic, and his music never goes out of style. I thought his performance was freakin’ awesome!

I have to respectfully disagree…..I am as sarcastic and jaded as the day is long, but I actually dug the halftime show. Sure it was safe and sterile, but give me a simple performance like that over Nelly grabbing his crotch anyday.
