A Real Fat Farm

The emails continue from pet stores trying to get me to buy diet products for my cat. Below is the lastest from PETCO. Do they know something I don’t?
“Hi, Pet Lover!
Got a porky puppy? A corpulent cat? A fat ferret? Maybe even a bloated birdy? Sounds like a real “fat farm”, doesn’t it? But if your pets are overweight, that can spell serious health problems for them down the road.
Not to worry—PETCO can help your pals trim down, with a variety of low-calorie foods and other dietary products, as well as toys to keep them active and books for you to read up on optimum pet health. So, this year make a resolution to establish a healthy diet and exercise regimen for your pets! We’ll help you on your way to a slimmer, trimmer and more healthy life for your pets with useful weight loss tips! And, find out how to ensure that proper nutrition is part of this routine.”
Oh, brother!!!!! Why did I ever give them my darn email address.

That ad sounds as if some “querulous” person at PETCO was told to sell some more diet formula food or his job was going to the dogs! 🙂

I’m afraid I spoil my sister’s dog Abby whenever I visit. Abby has figured out all the ways — doggie eyes, the muzzle on your knee, the pathetic little bark — to get me to give her a dog biscuit or Snausage. She’s elderly, deaf and nearly blind (the dog, that is), so I figure that some extra treats couldn’t possibly hurt.
