A Dozen Yellow Roses

With the Chicago Tribune article coming up, I’m starting to tell more “real world” friends about my site. Earlier today, I forwarded the link to one of my best guy friends from LexisNexis who is this very minute on his way to Scotland. He wrote back:
This comment pleases me to no end. It’s a shame we don’t live in the same town anymore. He moved from Chicago to Washington DC a few years ago. During the four years we worked together, he was like a big brother to me. I’ve missed that. I remember one time I was in such a crappy mood at work and he went and got me a dozen yellow roses. I still have those rose pedals. I’m sure he’ll be surprised to find out that I kept them.

I sent out an announcement when I started my Blog to everyone. My friends read at first but stopped after a while. My immediate famiy never did read. Surprisingly, my coworkers and their SOs are my most regular readers. They never comment, but every now and then they will say something about what I wrote. Also, I forgot my extended family knew and they read all the time.

It’s always strange when you find out that someone you know “out there” has been reading your site. I recently found out that one of my coworkers has been reading mine on a regular basis – I don’t mind and I actually gave him the URL – it’s just odd.
