5 Year Blog Anniversary

My blog is 5 years old today.
Will I be here in another 5 years? I’d like to think so, but in that blogging has become more mainstream and corporate, I am more conscious of what I share for fear of being dooced or simply unintentionally hurting people.
Thus, if it gets to the point where I can no longer be authentic, I’ll give it up. In interim, raw fear is still what I feel.

Happy blog birthday! I agree that blogging has become a far more public activity than it used to be. Also I think the day of the purely personal blog (ie blogging as diary keeping( I also think, though that people can say plenty without delving into their personal lives too deeply. I really love hearing your opinions on recent events, books and life in the UK, for example. Now that my job is increasingly online-based I am even more careful about not “oversharing, “but I still feel like there’s great potential for blogging as a form of creative expression.
Congrats!
