Obama’s Speech Rocked!

Barack Obama’s speech tonight is the best I’ve heard so far at the Democratic National Convention. Over and over again he electrified the audience and the passion displayed for a united America brought tears to my eyes. So it warms my heart to know that he has a really good chance to becoming the junior Senator from Illinois — my current home state. GO OBAMA!!!

  1. Obama is beyond having a good chance. No one is running against him from the Republican party. He will be the junior senator from Illinois. 🙂

  2. indeed! i was all kinds of into that speech and felt really emotional at times too. not too many people have the ability to do that to me. already there are mumblings of him being the first black president…
    we shall see i guess.
but yeah.. his speech was electrifying!

  3. Grr. Every damn local station interrupted shows for his bloody speech (they blasted over on top of Last Comic Standing, so one comic will probably get no votes from Chicago area now), which I easily could have seen at any time, anywhere, as it’s been re-broadcast a million times over since then. Then, I had to listen to an interview on The Daily Show rabidly praising the guy. I’m sick of him now, and worse yet, I really liked Jack Ryan…I wasn’t even planning on voting for Obama and now I basically have no choice.

  4. Every once and a while — rarely, but once in a while — do we hear the truth spoken from the likes of Obama. Cosby has long since made his mark in the hearts of the American people, but Obama has guts. His and Cosby’s words should be required to be read “out loud” at every PTA meeting in every public school in every major urban area.

  5. I thought Obama’s speech was nothing short of brilliant. The only question now is how long Mr. Obama will settle for being a senator from Illinois before he realizes that he’s destined for greater things.

  6. i hope he settles for 8 years of kerry-edwards, then maybe hook on a VP with edwards & then steal the show for his own candidacy.
even though he’s brilliant, it’ll take some manuevering to get a person of color or a woman on top of the game.
OR, maybe he & hillary can hook up in 4 if we have 4 more years with W. i don’t put anything past these hawks.

For one thing, you mis-spelled her name. For another thing, you screwed up her quote. For a third thing, I haven’t the foggiest as to why your hostility is directed at me.
Frankly, I think the Dems are over-selling this Obama guy. He’s black, he’s well-spoken, and therefore, they’re treating him like the second coming. His speech was written; it wasn’t his. His delivery was only so-so, and as I mentioned, I’ve seen it re-played a million times now, so there was no @!#$! reason to interrupt programming for it. They screwed up TAR and LCS, and neither of those shows will be re-broadcast.

  8. Obamas speech was great. even we poor folks in Kenya are proud of him though he may not know anything Kenyan short of his Fathers birth place.
