Uh, Who Is That?

Nothing like being on the phone with a senior level executive at a major fortune 1000 company and then have your cat come into your home office and start meowing loudly.

  1. At least said cat did not disconnect the call by chewing on the wires. My cat has to go…she chews on electrical wire! Any takers?

  2. I’m going to run a cat hotel. My sister is bringing her cat (of course). My ex is giving me one of her cats (new fiance is allergic to only one). Might as well take yours too.

  3. and there we have it…finally! choo choo’s revenge! that’ll teach you to give him a messed up lion hair cut.

  4. LOL @ Kat!

  5. Hey, not only does he look cute with the lion cut, but it’s helped to reduce the number of fur balls he’s coughing up. So I’m going to keep it that way for the near future. I just need to make sure that I give him is daily treats before I start in the home office. Or better yet, find him suitable daycare.

  6. o my gawd. kitty day care. u sound like you’re rich now girl. is your home office in a room? just close the door and he’ll have the rest of the place. you are infringing on his daily routine you know.
well, if you keep it like that, you really must send a pix into mycathatesyou.com cuz i’m sure the looks you’ll be getting won’t be all kisses.

  7. I’m not rich but since I have no children and he’s like a surrogate child who give me unconditional love in his own special way, I would consider spending my money on things like kitty day care. if it truly made sense. But I know it doesn’t. However, I sometimes worry about the fact that he has no interaction with other cats. As for me disrupting his route, well I am, but he’s also taking advantage of me being at home. He knows if he meows enough, I’ll eventually give him Pounce Treats. As for closing the door, well that just makes him crazy. He stands out there meowing and scratching the door until I open.

  8. So Choo-Choo actually owns you.
As far as no other cat to play with…it depends on who you talk to. I used to work at a vet clinic and we would have debates on a weekly basis about whether or not cats are really social animals. One vet said yes, one vet said no. I’m in between because my cats don’t seem to care if there are any other cats to play with, they only seem to care that I’m there. They are unhappy when they are left alone for the day…especially the white one. So…are they social or not? I think your cat will be fine as long as you are around and it sounds as if you give him ample attention.
As for closing the door…see if you can go one entire day ignoring the meowing and scratching. If your cat realizes he doesn’t get his way whenever he demands it, he will stop. I have a VERY demanding and spoiled cat…who used to wake me up at 3am for food and would NOT stop whining for hours. I used to cave and get up and give her food. Finally, one morning, I refused. It was hard. Hard because I felt guilty and hard because she wouldn’t shut up. But she no longer wakes me up at 3am anymore.
Might want to test it out.
As for furballs…have you tried Vaseline on the end of the nose before you started embarrassing..er, shaving him? Just a little dab on their nose, they lick it off and it acts as a lubricant…works better than any of those hairball remedies you get at pet stores or vets.
