Drunk CoWorkers: Part Deux

My department at work had a holiday happy hour last night. We originally planned to go to the W Hotel, but ended up at The Hunt Club. After a couple hours there where I learnt more about the sexual history of my teammates than I really should care to know, we headed to Butch McGuire’s to meet the friends of one of our coworkers. What a total meat market. Goodness, I felt like I was at a frat party. After some time there, we left and decided to have Mexican food at Blue Agave. I really just wanted to go home but in that two of the coworkers I left with were borderline drunk, thought it might be best to go someplace and relax without a drink in hand. One ended up coming home with me as she missed the last train out to suburbia. The other drove home tipsy. She said she was fine but considering how much alcohol we all had; don’t think it was really a good idea for her to drive. After having her walk in a straight line several times, stopped putting up a fuss since I know she didn’t want us to call her husband again. Plus I just figure that in the end, we all have to take responsibility for our actions. In case you are wondering, this is the same coworker that got wasted at the holiday party. All in all, it was a good time but drinking without having a proper meal is definitely not a good idea. Now trying to nurse my hangover.

  1. So, you have a department at home? 😉 That’s exactly what I thought when I read your first sentence.
Who made you hall monitor? Why are you little Miss Responsible for your coworkers? You wanna go somewhere, but you wind up taking care of some drunk chick. You wanna go home but you want to make sure the alchies sober up. You’re much better than me cuz I woulda gone to my party, taken my ass home, and said “Fuck them drunk asses.”
    Glad you had fun though.

  2. while i have never lost control in public, if I were, would like to think that I can count on those around me to make sure i got home safe.

  3. If you’re ever in that area again looking for a good place to chill and have a drink, I’m a big fan of the bar (Le Bar?) in the lobby of the Sofitel.
