Army Brigadier General Vincent Brooks

I want to clone Army Brigadier Gen Vincent Brooks. I don’t know what it is, but I’ve always been attracted to a man in a military uniform. I even dated one for a while and thought he might have become my future husband. But it was not to be. He’s now a JAG. I have no regrets about the relationship ending because deep down I wasn’t really thrilled about becoming a military wife. As much as he wanted to make me number one, I never was. That did not sit well with me. He was extremely committed to being becoming an officer at the Naval Academy and so loving him meant accepting all the limitations on our romance. It was really hard to compete with the military. In the end, I just stopped. I knew I would never win. Having said that, I still really like what I see when I look at Brig. Gen. Vincent Brooks. Here’s a bit more about General Brooks:

Race: African American
Current Age: 44
Where Born: Anchorage, Alaska
Marital Status: Happily Married to a African American woman
High School: Graduated in 1976 from Jesuit High School in Sacramento
College: Graduated in 1980 from West Point where he became “first captain,” or leader of more than 4,000 cadets in his senior year.
Graduate School: Master’s Degree from the school of Advanced Studies at the US Army’s Command and General Staff College. Also, National Security Fellow at Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.
Military Career: His military assignments have carried him to almost every corner of the globe including such places as Panama, Europe, Korea, Kosovo and the Middle East.
Current Position: Deputy Director of Operations for the U.S. Army & Spokesman for more than a quarter-million U.S. troops. (United States Central Command aka CentCom)

  11. I also look forward to seeing Army Brig. Gen. Brooks every morning, I would also like to see him every night.. after I leave in the morning for work .. I actually put on my AM radio & continue to listen to that man !!!! I love his voice.. Keep up the good work General.

  12. I was totally shocked to find this sight, but oh so happy to tell my sister that i’m not a nut case for being absolutely crazy about this man.I stay up just to watch and tape his briefings. I was very dissapointed the other day when another Gen. took over i’m glad that did’nt last very long. Ladies i think we should have a fan club, and get lots of pictures. God bless you Vince, stay safe. Maryann

  13. Hello! I was so surprised to find this site, so I guess I’m not the only one who find’s Vincent sexy, smart, serious, and did I mention sexy… I know, I know these are serious times and we need to focus…and I do each and every weekday morning at 6am (central time) I get my Vincent fix… The man is ALL THAT! I am so hooked that some of my coworker’s have been surfing the web for me to look for a picture of him that I can use to hang over my bed. Oh, I am well aware of the fact hat he is married and my only comment is …WHAT A LUCKY LADY!!! I would have no trouble saying YES SIR!! Night after night with glee!!!

  14. Well, I thought I was the only one. I have all of my classmates watching the Centcom briefings. If they had Army men that looked like him when I was active duty, I would have stayed in the military. I came on line to learn more about him. I took off work to see a story done about him on inside edition. (I was afraid my “i-control” would not work) He is truly intelligent, handsome, and sexy. It is good to see someone like that, because it motivates me to not give up on finding a good man, unlike these trifling, lying, stealing, baby-making, leaving your ass high and dry brothers, we become so accustomed to meeting.

  15. Unwilling ‘Star’

In the last month many people (mostly women) came to my site after I wrote a post about wanting

  16. Ladies,
Thanks for stopping by my personal online journal. Didn’t imagine that I’d get so many visitors looking to talk/learn more about Brig. Gen. Vincent Brooks. From what I’ve been able to learn about him, he has potential to be a great role model for young “brothas” out there. A few of you have mentioned looking for pictures of Brig. Gen. Brooks, so click here.
    Ursula

  17. General Brooks has charisma and loads of sex appeal. CentCom knew exactly what they were doing.
After all who really runs this country? We do ladies, we do. If this General ever makes it to Texas I’ll be there.
    Melody

  18. If you are marriaged I am very disappointed. I am not an advocate of this war or any others. I have never been even the slightest bit interested in a military man. But there is something about this man that has peeks my interest. His strenght and intellegence just seems to project through the TV screen. He leaves you hypnotized and flushed. Once you are finished with the war, I would hope to see you on Opray to learn more about you. Your wife again is a very lucky women and should be very proud of you. We need more strong, intelligent, handsome black men like you.
    Your biggest fan!!
    Pam

  19. OK, everybody, maybe I was a liitle harsh in scolding you all for admiring General Brooks. Obviously, I do too, or I wouldn’t be searching the web for him daily. His voice and his poise under incredible pressure are awesome. Mrs. Brooks must be a very special woman. Love all of you, and GOD BLESS THE USA!!!

  20. I thought I was the only one who needed briefed by our Brig. Gen. Vincent Brooks. It seems we have quite a few ladies who enjoy listening to him (and looking at him;So SEXY!). My sister thought I was crazy. Now I am going to send her to this sight so she can understand me a little more. I have always been attracted to a man in BDU’s. I suppose that is one reason I married my husband. Mrs. Brooks is a very lucky woman.
On a serious note. He is an excellent speaker and handles himself very well.
Ursula, Thank You for this sight and the pictures. I now know I am not alone.

  21. Ursula you are my hero. I looked everywhere for a pic of General Vincent Brooks aka ” honey-bunny” and you found not one but a whole slew of them! Now I am in heaven. You know I wonder if Eckard’s can make copies so i can….hey how about wallpaper…(lol). Anyway I do respect him and I’d like to thank him (over and over again) for the inspiration he has become to his troops, his nation, and a whole bunch of horny women(lol)!

  22. Ursula, thanks for the web site with the photos of Brig. Gen. V. Brooks, they are wonderful, you have made my day, thanks, Kathy

  23. What makes a man? Ladies, Brigadier General Vincent Brooks is 6 feet 5 inches tall, intelligent, African American, handsome and representing our country, and doing a magnificant job at it. Envoge had a song out, “what a man, what a man, what a mighty good man”, this is Brig. Gen. Vincent Brooks. I found an article in the Metro and it states, “Vincent Brooks is now part of an Army family that shares a piece of history.” His father is a retired brigadier general and his brother is a brigadier general.
Congratulations to Brig. Gen. Vincent Brooks and his family. Kathy

  24. Hello Ladies. I only want to suggest that you remember Gen. Brooks when it’s time to submit nominations for major magazine stories, like 100 sexiest men alive, Ebony’s most influential black americans, and Time magazine’s person of the year. The thing is, if you’re not in Public Relations, or a similar field, you may not know when these nominations are called. They’re not usually openly posted. So with that, start writing those magazines now so they’re thinking of him and see that he has robust support. Besides, to the magazines, they’ll think this kind of mail translates into subscriptions!

  25. OOOHHHHH!!!!!!!! CentCom, please schedule an EVENING briefing by MR. BROOKS! One briefing per day is NOT ENOUGH!!!! At least I get to start my day with seeing this truly blessed, intelligent man: I would like to end it that way, also.
Thanks, Vincent. We all love you!!

  26. I have been most impressed with this man. His intelligence, commanding presence, grace under pressure and more make him a most admirable person to represent this great country of ours. I, like the rest of those ladies commenting, also watch those morning briefings. Apparently his presence “rubs off” on those reporters and media folks – they ask him intelligent questions. No Jerry Springer atmosphere here!! God Bless B.Gen. Brooks and the U.S.A.

  27. Hi,
here’s a Vincent-Brooks-fan from “old Europe” (Germany). Certainely, it was an ingenious idea from the PR point of view to name him spokesman of Centcom, but it would probably mean underestimating his capabilities to say that he “sells well” as a representative of African Americans. Besides his great looks and charm (not to forget his intellect), he has a credibility that even has its effect on war sceptics. He gives me the impression that he believes in what he says and does – which isn’t always the case in leadership figures. I read a statement saying that he sees himself as a role model not only for African Americans or soldiers; he surely is sucessful in this. In short: He’s just cool!!!

  28. I was beginning to feel embarrassed about my thoughts when I saw this man on the news. I’m over 50 and going through menopause and don’t have a man in my life right now. But, Mr. Brooks, you’re making me call up my ex to help me out. Me thinks that a good thing. Thanks!! 🙂

  29. Amen sisters! What a man. Awesome smile. So glad I am not the only one that needs a morning fix of General Brooks.

  30. General Brooks appears to have so many qualities that women are looking for: intelligence, articulation, handsomeness, height, modesty but confidence, and last but not least, sexiness. I could watch and listen to him all morning. The genral is so poised.
He reminds me a lot of my retired military first love. I’ll admire General Brooks from afar, and hold on tight to my true military man. Women, are we not lucky? Yeah!

  31. WHAT POWER! WHAT STRENGTH! Gen. Brooks is awesome he never stumbles no matter what the question. I am totally against the war, but am definitely a fan of his.

  32. I am only 14 years old but, I truly admire General Brooks. Me and my mother Frances watch him every morning to see what’s going on with the war. Every boy my age believes that it is cool to be a thug and to just act like they have no sense what so ever but, I think that General Brooks is the perfect for every African American male. He’s even a role model for a young African American female, like myself. It is good to see a Black man setting an example.
(It’s funny to see women over 40 acting like teeny-boppers,lol)

  33. THANK YOU FOR THIS SITE!!! GEN. VINCENT BROOKS, HE CAN COMMAND ME ANY TIME!!! I’D BE AT HIS MERCY FOR REAL, WHAT A PAPI!!! ANYWAY GOD BLESS HIM AT ALL TIMES AS WELL AS ALL OUR TROOPS OUT THERE. MAY THEY ALL COME HOME SAFE!!!

  34. Ursula I could kiss you for taking the time to create this site! I am a real admirer of the General. I feel he has done an excellent job of giving the public a different eye-view when it comes to African-American men. I live in NYC and the media-coverage of black males is shall we say, less than stellar. He has truly given the whole world a different perspective about black men. And btw(by the way), His wifes name is Carol. Nevertheless, I still love him to death!!!

  35. Thank you Ursula! I too set my alarm clock to get up and have my coffee with General Brooks every morning. I think the thing I admire most about his briefings is that he never let’s himself be goaded into saying something he doesn’t want to say or thrown off his guard by reporter’s questions. He is so articulate and measured in his responses. In my opinion there is nothing sexier than intelligence. That being said – he is also incredibly attractive.
    P.S. His appeal isn’t reserved for African-American women. I’m Danish-American.

  36. As an African-American male, I’m delighted to see someone like Gen. Brooks, who presents a positive image of black men–someone who is intelligent, professional and of good character. Frankly, it’s refreshing to see an African-American male who is just the opposite of the semi-literate black athletes and rappers that we so often see.

  37. Hey! I have always wanted to be a soldier in the Navy myself. My grandfather used to be a soldier, so, just like OUR Brig. General, I come from a soldiers’ family. I think the idea to fund his fan-club is really something to consider thoroughly. I believe he would be glad. And all the soldiers would be glad, too. It’s good to know someone supports what you do, especially if it’s so dangerous. Ladies, think about it! I’m open to any suggestions. All the best! And thank you Ursula, for this site.
    Magdalena Maria Bukowiecka from Poland.

  38. What in the world are we going to do when the briefings stop?
I get up early so I won’t miss one word!
He is so intelligent and attractive, not
    to mention extremely articulate.
I guess we’d better start taping the briefings
    for our “Brooks fix”!

  39. Ladies, the General is a welcome sight in the mornings. Forget the coffee,a CentCom briefing and a cold shower is all I need to jumpstart my day. Way to go Vince, just to show that age does not matter, I have a son and daughter out there.
So keep giving those briefing you make a lot of “sistas” happy. Carol keep that man. Anyone have the 411 on Carol?

  40. Dear Ursula, thank you for creating this page.
    Here is another Vincent-Brooks-Fan!
May be, you, Vincent will once read these comments here.
It is told about you, that you like applause: Here it is. You are doing your job very well and I wish you good luck for all your plans. I trust in you doing your job seriously and: never forget your Christian home.
“Pardon me, sirs, I am coming through.” I am sure about this, Vincent. I hope I may see you often! We need some more characters in this world.
Very special greetings from Sabrina (Germany)
An interesting article about Vincent: click here

  41. Each time I see Gen. Brooks he reminds me so much of my soon-to-be ex-husband, a former Marine, (and as Theresa, April 12, 2003 put it)trifling, lying, stealing, leaving your ass high and dry brother…I guess Vince wasn’t at Quantico the night I picked the wrong one. Anyway, Gen. Brooks makes me proud…to see a strong, intelligent, articulate Black man with crazy responsibility doing such a wonderful job! May God continue to bless you!!!

  42. I thought I was the only one who ‘noticed’ Brooks enough to search out articles on him! Brooks’ briefings would come on at 7pm my time (I live in Singapore, on the other side of the planet) and I was impressed immediately by the way he came across. He is so articulate with a voice that’s strong and confident yet has a comforting quality. The strange thing is that I didn’t even notice he was black until my husband mentioned it. That’s crazy to you, I know, but I’m Chinese living in Singapore and we’re used to a lot of prominent Indian men who are sophisticated and successful professionals so it didn’t register with me about Brooks like, “Hey, it’s a BLACK guy up there who speaks better and looks sexier than Bush!” When I told my husband “that general who does the briefings speaks very well”, my husband said, “That black guy? He’s on his way to a promotion!” And I went, “What black guy?” From then on I LOOKED properly at Brooks when he came on and was hooked from then on. I am sure he’d be terribly embarrassed if he read these postings but I do hope we will get to hear or read more about him after the war’s over. But I doubt it. He’s in a serious business – the military – not Hollywood, which makes him even more unattainable, completely byond reach than an A-list star! At least we can count on regular stories about a top-rated actor but Brooks, no way. Please SOMEBODY think of something fast so we can continue to get our Brooks fix!

  43. THIS MAN IS WHAT EVERY BLACK WOMAN WANTS IN A BLACK MAN, HE’S THE TOTAL PACKAGE!!!!!!
Like so many others I thought I was the only one. I went to BET.com’s message board, and saw a comment about how Vincent is too white, and that black women wouldn’t be interested, if that person only knew!
Sorry for being so long, but I have to say this:
I remember flipping through the channels, and seeing one of the briefings; Vincent was standing in the back, but I couldn’t see his face. I was wondering who the black man was, and was he black? Then one day I finally saw his entire face! MY GOD, MY GOD, MY GOD! He is so FINE. DAMN HE’S FINE!
He’s not only FINE. He’s PROFESSIONAL, WELL MANNERED, WELL SPOKEN and EDUCATED!!! FINALLY, a black man who’s not a thug doesn’t talk slang or curse constantly, not taking his butt to college, a baby maker, and trifling! After I saw him I was in LOVE!!! But then I heard he was married, I was hurt but not shocked. But thanks to this website I found out he’s married to a black woman. THANK YOU GOD! I say that, not to sound racist, but because I’ve been reading SO many articles on how black women have totally stopped dating black men, because they fell, after having a few bad relationships w/ black men, ALL black men are: thugs, liars, cheaters, and non-educated. Basically, they THINK there aren’t any GOOD BLACK MEN out there who are smart, educated, and who have GOALS.
Thanks to Brigadier General Vincent Brooks, this country, Black America, and those black women who said there aren’t any good black men out there, will see that there are good black men just like Vincent Brooks (even thought he’s married) in this country. He’s the perfect role model for black men who fell they can’t and want get any where in this country because their black men. He’s the perfect role model for our little kings (black boys) to show them just how far you can get w/out being on the streets, an athlete, or a rapper. As a young, black woman I am so PROUD to see a positive black man on television. Black men please don’t hate on him, follow him.
Brigadier General Vincent Brooks, it’s black people like you who make me more prouder each day to be BLACK, and to be a BLACK AMERICAN. THANK YOU and to all our sista’s and brotha’s fighting for US, and OUR right to be here!!!!
P.S. I don’t know about you sista’s but I’m going to write to ESSENCE magazine about this man.

  44. i too, am happy, yet not suprised at this wonderful site. thank you, ursula. like a lot of the other emailers i thought i was one of the few who couldn’t wait to see this man deliver his reports. so calm, self-assured, intelligent and well-mannered. and yes, very attractive. so great to watch him come to the attention of the American public. I’m glad that so many Blacks have reiterated his appeal as a positive role model for African-Americans, but I would go beyond that and say he’s an example of what anyone can accomplish, especially with his great quote re: one’s impediments, “Pardon me sir, I’m coming through.” and finally, I second the ladies sentiments, he’d be a great catch and it gives me hope that their are men of good character still out there. thanks again, any t-shirts available? maureen from santa barbara, ca

    Hi Angie,
This month in Jet Magazine(The R&B singer Genuwine is on the cover), there’s an article about the General. The article states that his his wife is a physical therapist and she comes from a military family also. I searched the net and this is how I learned that his wife’s name is Carol. I will link the interview that Journalist George Curry wrote about him.

  46. Here is the George Curry interview with the General Brooks. Enjoy!

  47. thanks ursula for this great web site honoring a really great man he is not only what every black women wants he is what every women wants if cloning ever comes in to being they should make enough of Gen. Brooks to go around i can not start my day without seeing him on the centcom briefings in the morning it makes my day waiting for the morning in massachusettes.

  48. I too love to watch the General. He is smart, and well poised. I am sure he is blessed to have his spouse Carol. Military life is very hard on the family. I believe when your homelife is secure you can focus on your career etc. Behind every good man is his woman so I say Carol thank you for supporting the General throughout his career.
I would love to see him on an evening special like Barbara Walters.

  49. watch you daily on tv also we think your
    husband to look at.

  50. sir,
i like the way you adrres the press during this conflict with iraq.so sir how can i join the us army.

  51. I feel that vincent brooks has done and continues to do a remarkable job for our country. It has been a pleasure to watch this georgeous intelligent man throughout the the war….could someone please tell me what channel and time he can be found on out on the west coast now that the official war is over I don’t see him on the new brief????? tia scott (truely #1 fan, San Diego)

  52. I TRULLY MISS THE GENERAL (BROOKS) SO WHAT’S NEW WITH HIM. WHAT IS HE UP TO THESE DAYS? I WOULD LIKE TO SEE HIM AGAIN, DOESN’T MATTER IN WHAT OR WHERE AS LONG AS I SEE HIM. MISS HIS GORGEOUS FACE AND OUTSTANDING WAY OF HANDLING THE PRESS!
NOT TOO MANY MEN OUT THERE WHO CAN ALSO HANDLE BEING BOTH INTELLIGENT AND GORGEOUS!
    GOD BLESS YOU VINCENT BROOKS!!!

  53. vincent brooks by all means is a very intelligent individual. He’s a very attractive man I must say. He handles the press as if to say you will never see me sweat even when he may look tired and weary. I know the very first time I saw him I said instantly that he is a someone I wanted to get to know more about, and yes I know that he is a happily married man and I give great attribute to his wife because she is the powering force behind him you know what they say behind every good man there is a good woman waiting in the wing. u go boy 🙂

  54. VINCEN BROOKS, I LOVE YOU,,,

  55. nice to know i’m not the only one still in “shock & awe’ over General Brooks though these days it’s clouded by the growing body count over there. No doubt he and other CENTCOM members are on edge. All we can do I guess is pray these guys figure out how to put a stop to this madness – quick. Those are future Generals dying out there.
    STOP THE MADNESS!!!

  56. Yes indeed! the brother is all that! Please remember that Gen. Brooks embodies the potential of every Black man in America. All you have to add is a comfortable, safe and nurturing home, two parents who love him, the money and interest in his educational, psychological and ethical development and a politcal climate/administration that needs Black faces to cover up a national robbery plot. Then we get to see brothers like the fine Black General who are articulate, educated and responsible. All of the other times we see (courtesy of the media) the ones with the NO’s. No sense, no job, no ability to communicate, no responsibility and no teeth. So maybe this brother could be our wake up call. Let’s stop helping to erase the Black man in America and fight for what they need. Y’all know we love ’em!

  57. Radio Energji … We love You … Brooks…

  58. I saw him a couple of weeks ago. He was the speaker at a Black History month program. He is very intelligent and articulate. He looks okay, but resembles my brother who I’ve always thought looks like an alien.

  59. Does anyone know when is the General’s next public speaking engagement? I really miss those centcom briefings. I got up early each morning just to see this wondrous man speak. I’m co-signing with what everyone else has said. Gen. Brooks is VERY intelligent and articulate, and being quite the looker doesn’t hurt either, as he is very handsome.
I really miss those morning briefings…*sigh*

  60. HAAA! I went to elementary school with Vince in Alex., VA. From what I remember, he was a very funny guy. What a shock to see him on TV! Way to go Vince!

  61. Yea he’s everything I want in a black man. An Intelligent and a very good looking one at that too.

  62. I came across your site looking for current information on General Brooks. He sets the bar for all young soldiers and other young people of all races. I would hope he gets as high as Colin Powell and makes his next star soon. Perhaps he will enter politics I believe he would be good on the national level. Sex appeal I leave that to you ladies, he is very impressive in unfiorm and he probably sings well as at West Point he was a member of the gospell choir

  63. Brigadier General Brooks would be a very electable and money raisable candadate in any blue state as well as red. he would do well to replace Condi Rice as well. If he likes I would be willing to broker his next employment!!
