President Carol Mosley-Braun ?!?

Former Illinois Senator Carol Mosley-Braun is considering running for the Democratic nomination for presidency of the United States of America. Since Illinois voters soundly rejected her candidacy for a second term as Senator, kind of wondering what makes her think she’ll win this nomination.

  1. I still felt kind of sorry for her that only one supporter showed up at her speech in Des Moines yesterday.

  4. carol mosley is the type continder that we need she has no fear is truthful and she introduces all america to their phobias indenighing her they would continue in their steria conditions which is conterproductive for the good of all.
To say that only a male can govern America is cutting us short and to say that only a white male can govern America is double indemity.

  5. Um, Jeri, with wordsmiths like you supporting her, I’m sure she’ll be our next president.

  6. Well said Celeste!! 🙂

  7. Carol Mosley Braun will not become President or even the Democratic nominee. The liberals are too afraid of being called racist to challenge her record or offer any substanitive critisism of her positions. Yet at the same time, they will not provide her or Rev. Al Sharpton with any real support. Behind the scenes, there is no real desire on the part of the Democratic party to elect a black candidate. The dirty little secret is, even amongst their population of “enlightened, openminded” people, there lacks any confidence that either candidate is up to the job of President. There may be better qualified black canditates, but I think they know the scoop. Good look Carol, but don’t git you hopes up to high looking for real help from the democrats.

  8. Today, was a wonderful and enlightening day. Why? Well, I must say that I heard the most profound set of comments by a Ms. Carol Mosley. I listened to her comments intensely regarding her potential bid for the Office. I must admit, her words as well as her sultry voice was indeed like a breath of fresh air. I get the instant feeling that we have a Sista who is not at all afraid to tell the world what things really are. We are living in times where it seems a crime to hold fast upon any right morals and/or principles. She has them and seems to be spiritually grounded, too. Take note that I did not say religious. There is truly a big difference. I suppose the main point I would like to emphasize is that I wish this Gentle Woman the best. And I will tell you all a secret. I am sure that Carol already knows this deep within her own divine. Ready? Here it is. No matter if she lacks a large number of supporters, she has already won the race for standing up against the insurmountable odds Planted against her. It may well be her destiny to lead this country into right paths. That’s right, I did not say Back to right paths. In my opinion, such could be a topic for another day, n’est pas? But as I was saying, Ms. Mosley could really put The People on a path of empowerment that would help to free as well as open their minds. This country and its populace seems to be wading through a pit of tar. Some are fighting it and others are simply happy to stand still in it. The most ironic thing is that no one is willing or perhaps, not yet ready to take a look in the mirror. Afraid what we might see? Possibly. But from Carol’s comments today on NPR, I feel that she could be a champion for The People. She could actully help heal wounds that most of our leaders today with their behind the scene politics continue to pour only salt. The sad truth behind all of this regarding Carol is that most people will shun her, not only for the color of her skin or gender but mostly for her positive messages. For those who will lend an open hear to what she has to say, I am sure it would be as a soft blessing upon the soul.
    Good Luck Ms. Mosley.

  9. Unbelieveable. What a joke- I am a Democrat, not a racist. Will she be on another African safari paid for by contributor contributions when inauguration day comes around? I wonder is Mumia Abu-Jamal will be available as a running mate. Only drawback I see is police unions having reservations about backing her. I hope Bob Graham stays well and runs a good campaign.

  10. A statement I’d like to see inorporated into the Democratic campaign is a comment on how George W. Bush displays the spoiled-brat personality he has developed from being a spoiled little rich kid all his life. He expects everybody to do what he says simply because it was he who said it! There is no attempt at a metacognitive assesment of his plans & proposals. He said it, we are expected to accept his intuitive persptives with no doubt or questions! Even his pompous, arrogant forced strutting and gait is nothing more than a theatrical performance and not real!

  11. Joe your comments are foolish, and I will regard it as such and refrain to comment on it.
There’s much to be gained by Braun running it brings certain issues to light which would be immensly benificial for AmeriKa to start focusing on. Depending on the results that come out of the primaries it will defintly tell the Democratic party what it’s voters want what they are focused on and what we as a party need to do because the party as it is now is withering. The face of the party must change or die. When we get candadites like Braun,Kuchinich and Sharpton it A. reminds us of the minority of american voices that need and must be heard by democrats and B. simply brings a hope that presidency does not have to belong only to the white moneyed males but to everybody.

  12. SHE IS SAND BAGGING IT, SHE IS A HARD NOSE ULTRA LIBERAL. SHE SWORE WITH HILARY THAT BILL WAS AS CLEAN AS A SAFEWAY CHIDLEN AND THAT IT WAS A CONSPIRACY BUT THEN WHEN THE TRUTH CAME OUT SHE TRIED SOME OTHER RADICAL EXPLAINATION AND THE PEOPLE OF HER STATE DIDN’T BUY IT. SO WHEN OUT OF WORK SHE GOT REWARDED TO AN AMMBASADOR JOB.HER DADDY TOLD HER HER MOUTH WOULD GET HER IN TROUBLE WHICH IT DID AND WILL AGAIN.

  13. Why are you even in the Race? I know. To be in history the first black female to run for president! I would never unvite you to a dog fight. You are a disgrace to the black folks.thank you

  14. Leonard,
Before you call someone a disgrace, you could at least do some fact-checking. Find out who Shirley Chisolm is and then get back to us with a more informed opinion.

  15. With the economy recovering from Clinton/Gore’s last years in office and the war in Iraq going so well (dispite what the liberal bias media is reporting) and our war on terrorism going well, what’s the use of discussing any Democratic candidate – esspecially Braun who is a mental midget.

  16. I think Carol is a lovely woman. I watched her in the New Mexico debate, and she was poised, articulate, and direct. Unfortunately, as much as I love her and wish her the best, I know that even if she did get the nomination, Bush would win again because racism is still a problem in America. I think women and minoritys need to hold cabinet positions for a few more years before some Americans will be ready to admit that they have presidential potential. I have a feeling that day will be during my lifetime, and I look forward to it.

  17. I think that she does indeed have a good chance of going far in this race. Not many may think, but Braun has no chance of becoming president. I support her fully, indeed, but it will not happen, sorry, not this year. And why the insults? Mental midget? Let’s take a good hard look at the man whos running this country -now-.
Then get back to me on the mental midgets..

  18. Carol Mosley Clark is a remarkable lady.. to all of you who think she is a disgrace are incredibly wrong. What she is doings is unbelievable and she needs to keep on going till she cant go anymore. If you ran for president you would be supported so it is un-American to speak about this lady behind her back after none of you know her. Although she is black and is a lady, shes doing something called TAKING A CHANCE.. you rude stubborn people need to get that term into your stupid brains and support her.. you are doing not but sitting on your butts and typing bad things about this lovely lady AND WHY she wont get president.. what about if she did get president ? TAlK ABOUT THAT.. leornard.. your an idiot! SHE IS ABSOLUTLY NO DISGRACE TO BLACK PEOPLE YOUR A DISGRACE.
    Thank you..
    -Sara

  19. I am turning 18 in time for the primary election, I am a democrat, I am white and a male. But above all else I am a die hard Mosley-Braun supporter. I watched the entire New York debate and by then I had already known much about Ms. Braun. I watched the debates in my AP Government class, a class of all advanced seniors and a class of much debate. It includes over 60 students. By the end, the only candidate that had no negatives was Ms. Braun. The entire class found her very articulate and eloquent, intelligent, capable, and above all else, a risk taker. She is both a woman and an african american, two things out of her favor. It was our belief that if she was free from controversy and the chains of her sex and race, she would win the possition. The girls in the calss respect and love her, the boys found her impressive and refreshing. Needless to say, in a mock vote, Carol won. What does this say to me? My school is almost free of minorities…its in southern oregon, so we are very white. What it says to me is that Ms. Braun will get her many votes, her possitions on many items will gain more, she will have support of feminists and of minorities, and it even seems of the american youth. A youth that is growing into a civilized body – free of sexism and racism. I think she has a good chance, and I would be proud for her to hold executive office. In essence, she has my vote and blessing. I wish he the best of luck.

  20. I have a very warm feeling about Ms Braun and would like to work on her campain. This country has been ran by white males long enough, the only way they can solve a problem is with war war and more war. War is not always the answer. The only draw back that I see is that she is not married, she will need someone when times get hard. I know I would, plus marrige gives you balance. If anyone know how to contact her office please let me know.
May the Heavenly Father watch over her and provide her with everything she needs to be complete.

  22. I’m a white male in my fifties, but I have always kept my feet on the ground and my head out of the clouds. Carol Braun could never beat George Bush for our Nations Leader this up-coming Presidencial election. Don’t take that wrong. I believe she’s for the American people and our way of life, but she has several major obsticals to overcome. She’s a woman, and she’s black, yet neither has anything to do with her qualifications. Think about this as a way to beat George W, Bush, and place her sex, as well as race right up there for the American people to see for themselves as a positive future. Wesley Clark as President, posting Carol Braun as his running mate for Vice President? My God, now there’s a ticket that could place all of America with a voice in what happens with our futures. We’d have a voice with Wesley Clark that understands the needs of our military, with an eye on the worlds needs, having served the world in his own right. We’d have the needs of America covered by a woman who has lived the needs of two minorities. Good Lord Man, is that a ticket that covers the needs of America or what? Charles Fischer

  23. I don’t know much about politics. I am a black female who has never voted before. As far as Braun having several major obstacles to overcome; please realize that to be who she is and where she is, she has already overcome several obstacles. She is courageous and refreshing. Braun will recieve my vote, enthusiastically. Americans like to have choices.

  24. I have watched every single debate and Carol Mosley Braun is the only person exhibiting Presidential material. She is fantastic and makes everyone else look un-prepared. I am sorry she isn’t more of a front runner. I would vote for her for anything she supported or aspired to be. I am a white female and she makes me feel so proud to be female. I would wish to be half as courageous as she has been the last few months.

  25. good luck ms. mosely
