So really, what is the point of the United Nations if they will not act when a rogue dictator such as Robert Mugabe continues to destabilize the country of Zimbabwe? Oh wait, don't answer that. He was fairly elected to a 6th presidential term (Not!).

Chalk this up (and every other humanitarian crisis in the world - Darfur, Burma, et al) as just one more unintended consequence of our adventure in Iraq which has done nothing for the idea of nation building or humanitarian intervention. Sadly, the UN doesn't have the manpower to deal with these issues effectively. It's up to the US (and soon China) to deal or not deal with these issues.
It's a very sad day for democracy and the poor people of Zimbabwe.
Oh, it's all so tragic. Also shame on the African Union members who had the opportunity about a week ago in Egypt to publicly condemn the brutish regime and demand change and instead just issued a timid statement indicating they were deeply concerned. They should all be ashamed of themselves.
