Chris Rock Set To Rock Academy Awards By Kit Bowen, Hollywood.com StaffThe Oscars are getting funnier and funnier--literally. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has appointed Chris Rock as host to the 77th Academy Awards telecast. This will be Rock's first stint as Oscar host.
"I am a huge fan of Chris Rock," producer Gil Cates said in the press release. "He always makes me laugh and he always has something interesting to say. Chris represents the best of the new generation of comics. Having him host the Oscars is terrific. I can't wait."

I heard about this just 10 minutes before I came to your site.
I can't wait to watch the awards now. Usually I don't care to watch them but with Chris Rock up there....as the show I was watching said, "The audience should be getting very nervous with him up there." Meaning that with Chris Rock, no one is immune to his joking around. This is going to be great.
