Mean Girls

After writing my post of yesterday, I went back to bed but I felt restless. So decided to get up and get dressed and head to the movies. Ended up seeing Mean Girls which lifted my spirits somewhat. Then I went shopping for a dress to wear to my friend's wedding. I went to every major department store on Michigan Avenue and couldn't find anything I liked. Truth be told, I couldn't find a dress that fit me properly. I'm too slim for plus sizes but not skinny enough for regular sizes. I'm in that awkward in-between phase. So that left me feeling depressed. I suppose I could try again next weekend. Or then again, maybe I'll just wear a dress I already own. No sense spending a ridiculous sum of money for a dress I won’t get much wears out of.

too small for plus sizes and too big for regular sizes?? tha hell? since when has losing weight been like growing your hair out of a short cut?

i don't know if your saying mi ave was supposed to tell us the quality of the stores, but i suggest you look elsewhere. perhaps you should try a 2 piece or suit.

i also think wearing something you already own is the best way to go.

Michigan Avenue in Chicago is where you'll find all the high end department stores. While shopping for a dress, I went to: Lord & Taylors, Bloomingdales, Nordstrom and Marshall Fields. I did find stuff that sort of fit, but it wasn't jazzy enough. Since iit's an evening wedding, I need to find a more black tie dress. Didn't have much luck on Friday night. I suppose I'll try again next weekend.

I suggest ebay shopping...worked for me. :)

Also, you might try jessicalondon.com (their plus size stuff tends to run a little small, btw...I'm an 18 for skirts at most places now, but I'm a 20 for them).
