Hey Ursula-

Thanks for the plug. I am having a great time. As for working hard, well, that's another story. I am working hard on my blog. I have as many posts in "draft" as I have published on the site because of how damn touchy the Peace Corps is about things like cultural sensitivity and their own image.

The Peace Corps is bit a of bureaucratic mess. Much of the time I feel like I'm on a two-year vacation paid for by the good taxplayers of the USA.

Take today for example. I woke up around 7. I played with my kittens for 3-4 hours, then rode my bike into town to check my email and have lunch (chili con carne at the local mexican place run by a guy who used to play in the NFL).

Then I went into work for about 10 minutes to talk to my boss again about the fact that I have no desk, nor a computer. And I'm suppossed to be an IT volunteer. It's really fucked up at my ministry at the moment.

I went to the market to buy papayas to make milkshakes and then I met my cousin to take a few pictures of him with the Manu Samoa rugby team.

In between I went to the library to take a look at their children's collection in Samoan, which is limited, something I'm hoping to change. I also visited the Samoan National Olympic Committe because they want me to help out with their website.

Now, that I write that, I do sound busy. Fuck, maybe I am earning my 300 bucks a month.

tofa soifua,

Andrew

No problemo. Despite the flaws of the program, I know you are over there doing good work. Too bad you have to self censor. Hopefully when your Peace Corp journey is over, you'll feel more comfortable publishing those stories you have in draft. Sometimes we have to criticize that which we love to make it better.
