Today I got an email from Pet Treats Plus titled: "Help your pet lose those holiday pounds." I chuckled. Then I got annoyed. Not only am I constantly being bombarded with images that make me self conscious about my own weight, now I have to start obsessing about my cat. Good grief!

Last time I was at Northwestern Memorial Hospital a few weeks ago, a big sign advertised a class in which overweight patients *and* their overweight dogs would be placed on a special regimen.
I think the purpose was part of a study to determine whether having a pet participate increases the human's chances of success.
I just had a thought: Has anybody tried the Atkins Diet on dogs and cats? Would you test them with those reagent strips, too?
Actually, maybe ketosis would *improve* pets' breath!
Oh, come on...if any cat needs to lose a few pounds, it's choo-choo. She's the Star Jones of cats.
Shut up! Choo-Choo (he) is a normal weight for his type/breed. He looks bigger than he really is because he's a long hair cat.
