Social Television

The amazing this about social media is that it has changed the way many including myself watch television. As not only can you share the experience with people in the room, but also with friends, family members and even strangers across the globe. Case in point, last December I live-tweeted Nelson Mandela’s memorial and funeral. In January I live-tweeted Super Bowl XLVIII. And earlier today I live-tweeted while watching USA v RUSSA ice hockey game. Each of these major events brought out a range of emotions throughout the broadcast and it’s been great to chime in and share my thoughts […]

Singledom

Yet another Valentine’s Day finds me single and I’m really starting to question my decision to remain in London. The weather is less than glorious, it’s rather expensive so I can’t afford to live in my desired area Notting Hill and I’m eternally single. Granted I’m not the social butterfly I should be, but even when I’m out and about, I still don’t get approached. As for finding love online, well I probably should revisit, but previous attempts didn’t bring forth any decent suitors and so not excited about trying again. It’s all rather frustrating and I’m seriously questioning whether […]

Russian Police Choir covers Get Lucky by Daft Punk

Thanks to the stellar coverage by BBC Sports via TV and online, I’ve been able to watch alot of the Sochi Winter Olympics. From slopestyle to curling – yes curling, its all been rather exciting. That all being said, I can’t believe I missed the Russian Police Choir singing Daft Punk’s Grammy Awards winning megahit Get Lucky during the Sochi Opening Ceremony, well actually the preshow. Their vocal range is impressive and the three doing the lead bits of the song are beyond fabulous! Just love their energy. Related posts: Movie Project London 2012 Games Makers Choir

TEDTalks

I fall at the feet of Tim Berners-Lee who is credited with inventing the World Wide Web because his marvellous creation has offered unlimited opportunities to learn from some of the best and brightest via sites like TED: Technology, Entertainment, Design. This site is all about spreading ideas – from the oh so serious to the downright quirky! Today I visited looking to watch a talk by Simon Sinek on inspirational leadership but got totally side-tracked by Mary Roach’s 10 things you didn’t know about orgasm. Interesting stuff so watch and learn. 🙂 No related posts.

Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics

The start of the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics has me feeling nostalgic for my participation in the London 2012 Summer Olympics & Paralympics Games. As even now, never in my wildest dream did I image that I’d have the honour of participating and being so close and upfront to the celebration of the best athletes in the world. The dream had always just been to attend a few events at an Olympic Games. So having a backstage view of what’s involved in executing a production of that scale, was truly amazing and the memories will last a lifetime. And so […]
